Bad brass fittings

Hello Amazon,
I'm a happy Amazon shopper, and was very pleased when I received my product and the hooked it up to my Baby Q. When the weather became very warm about 90 the brass fitting the one end came off. So I had to take it to a hose shop near me and cut off both ends and have new brass pressure fitting installed. They told me that the one install by the company were installed incorrectly, it can now stand the heat. |

| Apparently this same hose is packaged under several different Weber part numbers for some strange reason. Buy this hose only if you have no squirrels or other rodents where you live. They like the taste (maybe it's grease that drips on it), and bite right through causing a leak. They ruined mine after just 1 month of use. A far better quality product that does the same thing is the Freedom Grill FG-50HA hose. It is stainless steel braid hose, and animal proof. It is slightly shorter, but still plenty long enough to reach from the Q grill at table height to a 20 lb cylinder on the ground. Thanks for earlier reviews that point to the FG-50HA. I bought it and it works great with my Q. |
a must have for those who use grill as main grill

| We bought our Weber Q from Amazon in 2002 and have been using it as our main grill since then. We bought the adapter so we could use a large propane tank with it and since then it's been indepensible and much more economical than using the portable tanks that Weber also sells for the unit. |

| This hose lets you use a large propane tank instead of the small canisters on a Q100 grill. It works and seems to be quality made. It was simple to install and has given me no problems in the past 2 years. Since nothing is perfect, here's the downside. The hose is 6 feet long. You don't need a 6 foot hose. For a Q series sitting on a cart you need about 30 inches. I've had to coil mine into a couple of loops to take up the slack. |
Not very pleased with my setup

I have a Baby-Q weber grill, and got this adapter hose to be able to use a large tank at home.
The problem is I constantly have to reset the grill and pressure regulating valve. Weber emailed me the procedure on how to do this. It's aggravating, when I'm ready to cook and have to reset the grill. it's slow, and sometimes takes a couple of attempts, before it will reset, and I can get a full flame. I've gone back to using the small propane tanks most of the time, and never have that problem.
Obviously the problem is my grill and not the hose, but if you're buying the hose to use with the baby-q grill, you may have problems. |
This is a great adaptor

| Received a Weber Q100 for Christmas and quickly realized I needed to get the large bottle of propane vs. the small blue ones. Bought this adaptor and have been very pleased with it. I bought the 6' vs the 4' for greater flexibility, but I discovered that with the Q100 it does take some time to draw all of the gas out of the hose. For safety sake I like to turn the gas off right as I take the food off and allow the gas to burn and clean the grill after cooking. To remove all of the gas takes several minutes. |
A must have item...

If one does very much cooking on the grill then one does need to have a larger tank. This hose is a perfect setup for the small Q series grill.
I am very pleased with this purchase. Price here was the best I could find on the net. |
Good choice for Baby Q use

| Would suggest ordering this for Weber Baby Q hook up to standard 5 gallon tank. Small canisters difficult to dispose of and need to be replaced often because of low capacity. Was easily installed with no connection problems (gas leak soapy bubble test). |
