Difficult to Assemble!

It's a great grill, but . . .

It seems like the people who wrote the assembly instructions played with legos as children. "Hey, we can make our assembly instructions all pictures just like legos!" Apparently, it is not that easy.

Clearly the instructions were not tested on real people. Most of the pictures make no sense at all. The rest make sense only after you have stared at the picture for several minutes. Many pictures don't apply to the e-310 at all. They apply to the e-320, but there are no words to tell you this. No words at all. Just a bunch of vague pictures . . .
So far so good

I have used this three times and it works as advertised. It gets hot quickly 550 deg in 7 minutes. It is really nice looking and cooks well. After researching this product to death, I bought mine local since they put it together and delivered it to my deck. In my opinion, well worth the tax and extra charge.
Great grill

The Weber Genesis E-310 is sturdy and practical. The burners and controls are higher quality. The enamel grate is easy to clean. I don't like a side burner (a real pain in a windy location), so I am glad that this model doesn't have one. It heats up quickly and evenly. The temperature control is much more precise than the other gas grills I have owned. The thermometer takes the guess work out of cooking. I have used it as an oven to cook foods in a covered roasting pan. It's not quite as good as a kitchen oven, but for a grill, it is more than adequate.
The only reason for not being 5 stars is the placement of the control knobs on top of the right hand surface. Yes, they are accessible. I sure wish I had that surface to set things on.
I can highly recommend this grill.
Good grill

Its a solid grill...buying on Amazon, I got the cheapest price. Delivery was good. Took me about 2hours to put together (I'm somewhat handy around the house). If you're looking for a grill in this price range, I would recommend.

I have owned a Weber before, so when it came time to up grade I went with another one. The 4 stars instead of 5 is because of two minor reasons. One the instructions to assemble the grill were terrible. How could such a top notch company fall prey to visual instructions without written ones to complement the assembly of the grill. When I assembled my first Weber grill over 15 years ago, I was blown way by the instructions to put the grill together. The instructions were well written and completely thorough without room for error. The assembly of the grill was flawless and quick. My new grill has pictures to assemble by. The instructions are cantering to illiterate consumers rather than those who are "RIF"(reading is fundamental). Now I did get my new grill assembled mainly because I have spent my whole life in construction work and understand nuts, bolts and screw.God help the chap who has not a background in basic hardware.

The second reason is the stainless steel handle gets hot during the grilling process. Having said this, the grill is still a Weber and grills with the perfection I have know for many years. There is no better grill period.

Hope this helps.

I purchased one of these grills.
Shortly after purchase the burners fell apart/ were defective and were replaced under warranty.
Now, still under warranty-the burners have rotted out and the flavor bars are rotted out.
A call to Weber told me because the defective burner was replaced once they will not replace them again.
They would not replace the rotted out flavor bars either!
The grilling surface has uneven cooking temperature resulting in burning food on LOW with only one burner turned on.
I will never purchase another Weber product. Not worth the money.
BUYER BEWARE OF MISLEADING WARRANTY INFORMATION.
The grill was covered with a Weber grill cover when not in use.
Deducted 1 star for the side mounted controls...

I pretty happy with this grill. Its pretty well built compared to a lot of the "tin can" models out there. I have had it now for about 3 weeks and it cooks very well. It heats up very quick and the thermometer seems very accurate. I particulary like the grease collection design. Assembly was very smooth although it took some time.

What I don't like are the side-mounted controls. Who in their right mind at Weber would ok this design?? What purpose does this arrangment serve?? Yes I knew it was this way before I bought it but after it using it for a bit it bothers me more than I thought it would. I don't regret buying the grill...but IMO this grill could of been an easy 5-star rating if it wasn't for the controls.

I bought my E-310 three years ago and have never had a single problem with it. This year, I looked at the cooking grates and decided that I want to replace them with stainless steel grates. Looking high and low on the web, and at two local stores, I wasn't able to locate them. Finding the right part number was confusing because there are so many different Genesis models. You see grill grates described as replacement parts for Genesis models, here and there, but they don't fit this or that specific Genesis grill.

So I called Weber today, mid-afternoon on a Saturday, Pacific Time, and very promptly had a Weber representative on the phone. This guy was great. He knew everything about my Weber grill, had all the part numbers, advised me on how to clean different parts of it, how long they lasted, what the warranty specs were... He very graciously answered all my questions and gave me lots of useful suggestions and information! And no pressure to order the parts from Weber (at a higher price than from Amazon).

Total Class Act. Makes me glad I bought a Weber.

(BTW, the replacement grill rack part numbers for the Genesis E-310 LP are: 7524 (porcelain over cast iron), or 7528 (stainless steel rods).

Nice job, Weber.
Awesome Weber

I have cooked on theWeber 22 1/2 inch charcoal kettle grill for over 25 years and absolutely love it especially for roasts, turkey's etc. Hamburgs, steaks, hot dogs and other fast cooking meats tasted great unless you were cooking for a crowd with these items, it took longer to get the coals to the right cooking stage than it did to cook them. After much contemplation and reading all the reviews on the gas grills, I decided to bite the bullet and supplement my charcoal grill with the Weber Genesis E310. I have used it several times now and the food was absolutely scruptious. I was amazed how fast it went from zero to 500 degrees (less than 10 min). The 1st time I cooked was with steaks and I did not do anything to the grill or the steaks. They stuck a little to the grill but cleaning was fairly easy. Then I read that you could brush the food very lightly with oil (I used extra virgin Olive oil)to avoid sticking. It worked great and tasted great. This grill is constructed very well, sturdy and solid. It moves easily with the casters and I like that you can lock the front wheels. Assembling was OK, took about 2-3 hours. We were missing a few bolts of which Weber customer service sent them out right away. I like that the cabinet below is totaly enclosed because it gives me a place to store my cleaning brush,my BBQ tools and my vegetable grill pan. I would highly recommend this grill to anyone who likes grilling. I did not go for the E320 with the side burner as I don't think I will use it that much. There is plenty of room on the main grill to put a small pot for heating things. I did not think the extra cost was worth it to me. Seriously consider this grill....Good Grilling!! One last suggestion, buy the cover right away to protect your asset and also look into the Weber grilling books. I purchased "Way to Grill" and "Webers Big Book of Grilling". Fabulous recipes and lots of info on how to grill and keep your grill in top notch shape.
propane tank adapter

This unit does not come with a quick disconnect tank connection. There is no adapter available from Weber, or so I was told my the service rep at Weber. Plan on buying a new tank if you own a tank with a bayonet type connector.
