Initial impressions: excellent

I noted the previous reviews about damaged parts. Mine came in on UPS - the outer box had damage: dented, couple small holes; bottom tape had broken. I thought: Uh-oh. Opened it up and did inventory. All was in perfect shape. There was a lot of internal cardboard padding; it seems to have worked.
I also noted the previous reviews about the pictorial assembly manual having few words to guide you. Based on that I took a very relaxed afternoon to build the grill. I found that looking hard at the parts and diagrams and doing trial fits got good results - part alignment was excellent - bolt holes lined up with little effort. But I'd hate to try to do this for the first time if I was in a hurry.
Fired it up; seasoned the cast iron. All OK. All I had on hand to cook was a roast which isn't a great grill test but it worked just fine. |
Weber Q 320

I have been very happy with my Q 320 purchase. This is my first gas grill. I decided to give them a try after using a similar Weber model at a friends house. I have always been a Weber fan and have had one of my 22" kettles for 35 years. Their quality has always been one of the best and I have continued to buy their products through the years because of that.
The grill was a little slow getting to me after my purchase, but there was a holiday in there and I just used the free delivery.
The simple instructions made the setup easy. On YouTube there are many videos on how to setup and use this grill if you have an issue. The only problem I had after the setup was the propane bypass mode, which after a quick call to the helpline explained what I did wrong.
I have had my grill for about three weeks now and bbq'ed pizza, pork shoulders, burgers, steaks, fish, chicken, ribs, brisket, corn bread, four cassaroles, a meat loaf, corn, spuds, and various other veggies, all of which came out great! |
Great grill, small footprint

| I've been using this grill for about six weeks and so far I can only say good things. The grill gets hot very quickly, flare ups are minimal, and the cooking surface is very nice. I obviously can't comment on the grill's longevity, but so far I have no complaints. My previous grill was larger, but this one is certainly ample (and removing the cooling grate takes 2 seconds should you need some extra primary surface cooking area). Set up was as-advertised: 2 hours or so with no problems. As someone who grills often, I'd say this is a great buy at this price. |

| Love it!! This was my wedding gift!! Nothing I wanted more. It cooks great and looks just as great. We have a small deck, and the size of this little baby is perfect for us. The cooking surface is still large, but the fold-up size is just what fits for us. |
1st gas grill is a great grill

This was the first gas grill I purchased brand new. My previous gas grill, I got at a yard sale, and it never worked. So this was to be my replacement. Now, I know nothing about putting things together, so I had my roommate and boyfriend do it. They had the thing up and ready to test in under an hour. All the parts were there and intact. My only compliant is that the grill light requires AAA batteries, which are not included.
When I saw the finished grill, I was suprised. It is definately not what I imagined when I read "portable." The cart does have wheels, but I wouldn't trust them enough to wheel the grill around too much. Its small enough to fit right off my back steps, but large enough to cook multiple steaks and hot dogs on. It also gets very hot, very fast.
I did experience the problem with the grill not lighting, but it took all of 2 minutes for me to disconnect and reconnect the gas line, so I really wasn't bothered by it.
All and all, I am happy I purchased the grill and look forward to using it during football season. |

I ordered this package and selected overnight delivery so I would have it for the weekend. I received confirmation of the order and one day delivery for 7/3.
When tracking it on UPS I found that it is not scheduled to be delivered until 7/8, 5 days later. |
Customer service is already worth it

I received my Q320 today. Read through the manual, have yet to set it up or use it. Looking on Weber's site, I found some instructions and suggestions which contradicted some things I had read in the manual, such as what types of cleaning brush to use, should I condition the grates ahead of time, etc. I did not want to damage the grill the first time I used it, so I called the toll free support line. Within 1-2 minutes I was talking to someone live (I called them on a Tuesday 4:45 PM EST). A knowledgeable lady answered my questions:
1.) What type of grate: Porcelain enameled cast iron
2.) What type of grill brush to use: Brass bristle
3.) Use briquettes: No
4.) How to condition the grates: No conditioning necessary
5.) Wash the grates before using first time: No
She also made the following suggestions:
1.) Preheat the grill for 10 minutes before using the first time
2.) Whenever starting the grill, turn the gas on and let it pressurize for 2-3 minutes before igniting or the safety will kick in and very little gas will flow through without resetting some kind of safety.
3.) To care for the grates, just burn and brush them
Looking forward to setting it up and using it tonight! |

Tis the season for cooking out, which means all the "big box" stores have started setting up a maze of grills near their entrances. Problem is, each one is bigger than the next. My guess is that most Americans suffer from "grill envy" and seem to think size is the only consideration when shopping for an outdoor cooker. All these grills are measured in "Burger Capacity," and feature 4 or 5 burners, putting out 40k, 50k or even 60k BTU. That's great if you regularly cook dinner for your entire neighborhood, but the rest of us need a grill that's reliable, well-made, and reasonable in size. Enter the Weber Q 320: its economical (only uses 21,700 BTU) and perfect for a couple or a small family.
I don't know why more brick and mortar stores don't carry this product. Its smaller than most of the grills you see at Target, Home Depot and Lowes, but its not puny. The grilling surface is still plenty large: I was able to cook burgers and hot dogs on it to feed 6 hungry dinner guests, with plenty of room to spare. I can even fit a whole pizza on it. So before you rush out and buy the biggest grill on the market, ask yourself: do you really need all that space, or will it just go to waste? Plus, I found that the Q 320 really does heat up quickly and uses less propane than my old grill: its like the difference between driving a svelte, economical Honda Fit and a big, clunky Escalade.
To save space when not in use, the Q 320 employs two side tables that fold down. These side tables are VERY sturdy when engaged, but I fear that the constant folding/unfolding may wear them out a bit many years down the road. Only time will tell, but right now no problem whatsoever.
Another thing to be aware of is the complete lack of any junk parts on this grill. Yeah, the stand is all plastic, but once put together, its very durable and solid. Sure some of the El Cheapo grills are all metal, but they use poor-quality steel that tends to rust apart in a matter of years. The Q 320 won't rust away on you, and I'm confident I'll still be using this 10+ years from now.
If you keep your Q 320 outside, then I definitely recommend purchasing the Weber grill cover that's made specifically to fit the Q 300/320. Note that it will only fit the grill with the side tables folded down.
My only complaint about this grill is there is little to no room for storing grill accessories on the stand. There are no cupboards or drawers for storage, but I knew that before I purchased it. The side tables have convenient hooks for grill tools, but once you fold the tables down, the tools just fall off the hooks. That's really a minor complaint though - I've decided to keep my expensive grill tools in the house anyway where they're protected from the elements.
If you're looking for a quality grill that will last a long time, get the Q 320. It has all the features you need: a quality grill grate, great design, small footprint, instant electronic ignition and its made by an American company that really stands behind their products. Avoid the cheap, hulking grills from the home stores and get this Weber! |
Overall Very Nice Grill

We love our Q320 - its easy to use and all of the parts/components are of good quality except the electronic ignition. I purchased the grill knowing from another reviewer at Amazon that the ignition was sub-par but I wanted to echo his statement here that Weber does indeed need to upgrade the electronic ignition in the Q320. The initial electronic ignition lasted a bit over a year prior to it starting to fail. This spring when we rolled out the grill it wouldn't fire up at all.
The review isn't meant to be negative - I like the grill a lot and would definitely buy one again. There aren't too many products out there that can't be improved in some way and the same is true with the Q320.
Biggest plus: the speed in which the burners heat up and hold their temperature is fantastic. |

| I have an apatment at the beach where space is at a premium. Our second floor outdoor patio overlooking the oceam is only 10x12 feet. I wanted a grill that wouldn't take all of our outdoor space but still something decent, not a toy. The side utility tables fold down and I throw the Webber cover on it when not in use. It arrived in great shape and qualified for free 2day prime shipping (that had to cost Amazon a pretty penny). I love this grill except for the light. It tends to turn itself off and back on at random intervals. I have yet to call Webber about it. |
