Squirrels eat this hose

I purchased this hose figuring the squirrel problem might be isolated. It's not. Within a month squirrels ate holes in my hose and actually caused a pretty serious hazard, as my neighbors picked up on it by smelling the leak. So I'm out the hose and the gas in the tank.

I purchased this hose to attach a 20 Lb. tank to my Weber Performer (a charcoal kettle grill with a propane assist for lighting the coals). I purchased this Weber 6501 6' adapter hose so I wouldn't have to keep buying/disposing of the recommended 1 Lb. propane canisters.

After having the hose for less than a week, some animal chewed a chunk out of the hose. I just happened to have left the 20 Lb. tank's valve open (which I generally don't do). So not only is this $28 hose ruined, but I also vented most of a full tank (let's say $25 worth).

Of course, I've already ditched the packaging and receipt. I'm sure Home Depot isn't going to take it back now. I'm hosed.

Got mine today and they put the threading on backwards, having to send back and get another one... defective from manufactuer.

Hooked it up to my Q 100 and a 20lb tank. Works great.... I wish it came with the Q100 rather than a separate purchase.... if you have a Weber Q grill its really nice to be able to use either propane setups.

If you're looking for the Freedom Grill FG-50HA Stainless Steel Propane Hose -- the squirrel-proof hose -- it's mis-categorized on this website as "Automotive." So search either "Automotive" or "All Departments" to find it. I have to give this hose a one-star rating because it's not made out of a material will that will last, and you'll have to buy another.

Like another reviewer, this item was chewed through by squirrels. It was protected in a cabinet with the exception of the last foot or so where it connects to the grill. We have never had any previous issues with past grills or hoses - just this one.
