Product Description |
| The incomparable flavor and moistness of food from a rotisserie comes to the backyard when this electric rotisserie is fitted into any Weber Genesis Silver, Gold, or Platinum grill. At 21-1/2 inches long and 6 inches wide, it's spacious enough to hold two chickens or roasts or a full slab of ribs. Trussing hardware is included, and everything except the handle is made of metal for easy cleaning. The heavy-duty motor ensures smooth turning. Securing the motor to the rack and screwing in the handle makes setting up the rotisserie simple. --Fred Brack |

This rotisserie works great

I received this rotisserie last week and have only used it twice, but it worked perfectly. I had no problems with the meat falling off or getting it to fit in the 6" basket. I smoked a beef brisket and a large chicken and only needed to remove the stainless steel grates. The food easily cleared the flavorizer bars. I read quite a few of the reviews and noticed that many reviewers want to put a turkey on this rotisserie. Obviously, this is not suitable for this purpose.
This item is indeed made by a third party and to my knowledge, is no longer manufactured, I assume because the grills that it fits are older and also out of production. I paid $72 (new) for this item and I see the rest of the 9891 rotisseries available start at $180. So, if you find one at a good price, you'd better snap it up quickly. I can't wait to smoke an entire pork tenderloin using this product or a sirloin roast, or a pork roast...etc. |

| This rotisserie is very easy to place items on and they seem always to be balanced and secure. No problems with items falling of if placed with tight wing nuts. Easy to clean also. |
A new kind of rotisserie that really works

This is a great product. No skewering the meat with a three foot rod, just set the meat or large vegetables in the basket and tighten the novel clamps to secure the food. I can easily cook two large chickens in this 6" (wide) basket but if you want to cook a turkey, Weber says the 8" can accommodate up to a 12 lb turkey.
The motor is quiet and reliable. My only complaint, and it is really minor, is that another clamp or two would make it easier to cook more, smaller items. |
poor option

| This has been a disappointment becasue you have to take ALL the grates out of the grill to use it. So you get your lovely rotisserie chicken and.............nothing else. |

This product is easy to set up, easy to use and works great.
I was able to secure a 5lb pork roast using the easy to tighten clamps and the roast never budged during the 3hr cooking period. |

Great product. Well made, and easy to assemble. My only complete is that for the price, why doesn't Weber design the product so that it can be easily converted from the basket to a standard rotisserie.

Makes Great Chicken

This rotisserie makes delicious chicken. The chicken self-bastes while it roasts, so turns out very tasty.
The first time I used this I too had trouble with the holders coming loose and dropping my chicken. However, I found that a butter knife fits right into the loops that make the thumb-screw handles. Once you have your meat on there and hand-tighten, stick a butter knife through the thumb-screw handle and that will give you additional leverage to tighten further. Don't get carried away and strip the screws, but just a little extra nudge and I haven't lost another chicken. This trick also works for adjusting the holders half-way through cooking if your meat shrinks and the holders need re-adjusted. Use the butter knife to loosen the blasting-hot screws, then re-adjust the holders against the food, and next re-tighten with the knife. No burnt fingers!
I cook two large chickens with this rotisserie regularly and the motor is plenty strong to turn them evenly without strain.
Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is a little bit of a pain to clean. The little parts can be soaked easily in a bowl of water, but the whole basket/handle part is a little to large to fit in the sink for soaking. I don't let that stop me from using it though! |
Works great, but the clean-up is a bit messy.

| This rotisserie works well with the grill. We cooked a roast for the first time and it was wonderful. Make sure you spray the rotisserie with oil and line the drip pan with foil, otherwise the clean-up is a pain. |
Handy item
