What Is The Best Charcoal Grill?
I’m looking to spend about $200 on a charcoal grill but I can’t decide on what to get. I’ve looked at Char Grill, Royal Oak, Char Broil and Weber. Im looking for something that can cook at least 6 at a time and over 10 hamburgers at a time. Any suggestions??

LG,
The very best would be the “big green egg”, but those are very expensive.
I just replaced my 22″ weber kettle grill after 14 years of heavy usage. I bought one like it. I’m 46 now. If it lasts as long as the last one, I’ll be 60 when I replace it. Geez that’s freaking depressing.
Anyway - the heat distribution, metal thickness, high volume lid, grilltop distance from the fire which allows heat to spread evenly, and the widespread availabililty of replacement parts make the weber kettle the charcoal grill of choice around the world.
The upside is - you can get one for 80 bucks. It will cook at least 10 hamburgers, but actually more. Im not sure about the other requirement. 6 of what? I’ve done 4 full racks of ribs on mine. I can fit about 2 chickens on it if I leave them as halves, and around a dozen burgers.
However - I never fill the grill all the way. You need someplace to put meat that isn’t over direct fire, somewhere to retreat to if the fire is too hot, or if you need to step away for a nature break or get a beer.
Good luck
Kevin
The Weber Kettle hands down the best all around grill. Go spend $200 on some fancy schmancy new fangled thing, if you want, but you’ll never beat my Weber. If you really have to spend a lot, go on E-bay, I think in 96 or 99 or somewhere they made a ltd. edition Simpsons Weber complete with Homer style grill apron and ther accessories.
Next time I buy a charcoal grill, I’m gonna get the one where the grill has a hinge on each side of it for the purpose of adding more charcoal later when the first batch burns out. I know Weber makes those, not sure about others. Like this one…http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h…

My last grill was about $30 from Wal-Mart. It has enough space for 28 chicken legs and should have no trouble holding 10 hamburger patties. I have used the grill for fish, pork, chicken, beef, and vegetables. The most important thing is building and controlling the fire.

Love mine - I have the one with the smoker on the side - the smaller version but still has plenty of room. I do a full rack of ribs and a bunch of chicken all at the same time. For $200 you could get the really nice bigger version.
